Physical Science is a 2 semester course that investigates the nature of science, inquiry and content concepts that relate to the science of chemistry and physics.

 

 

Biology

Biology is an in-depth study of life processes including inter-relatedness and dependence of all forms of life upon each other.   Includes student generated projects, inquiry-based learning, dissection and laboratory techniques and safety skills.  Stresses ongoing scientific inquiry to understand the unknown

 

Chemistry

The chemistry course at Lincoln High School is comprised of the following major units of study: Atomic Theory, Periodicity, Bonding, Stoichiometry, Gas Laws, Kinetics/Energetics/Equilibrium, Acids and Bases, Oxidation-Reduction Reactions, Organic Chemistry, and Nuclear Chemistry. 20% of class time will be devoted to hands-on activities. Each student will need a scientific calculator. Students will take 10 major unit exams, complete 18 hands-on activities, write 4 independent writing assignments, and 3 memorization quizzes.

Physics consists of the principals and problem solving in the following areas: Force and Motion- in Depth- Concepts and Problem Solving, Universal Gravitation in Depth, Waves, Light and Sound in Depth- Introduction in the Areas of: Electricity- Magnetism- Laws of Relativity.   Each student will need a Scientific Calculator.
